Shared 16.9 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy pale golden with a large foamy white head. Heavy carbonation. Aroma is fruity, wheat, spice, citrus. Taste is wheat, more lemony than citric, some lactose. Tart, refreshing finish. Tasty. Nice summer beer.

Tap at the Hippodrom. Cloudy, milky wheat, white head. Strong ginger, Apple cake notes, a hint apple wine, banana. Medium light body, dry yeasty and spicy finish. Not a bad thirstquencher really

Not sure why ratebeer says to pour Berliner Weisses into bowls, do I dare go off on a tangent in a review on why we’re not supposed to do that? Ugh, part of me wants to but maybe it’ll be better if I explain to the editors and moderators on ratebeer the correct or traditional glassware for a Berliner Weisse, that’ll probably be better. Anyways, well, here’s the rest.
This was poured into a stange (because that is correct glassware for this style).
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange peel color with a semi-thick to thin foamy white head that dissipated at a nice pace. Lacing was somewhat foamy but small bubbles.
The smell had the sour wheat up front then subtle sour to bitter lemon and orange rind with a nice little bit of sweet wheat sliding in underneath as it warms.
The taste was basically the same with a citrusy aftertaste about it.
On the palate, this one was light bodied with a sly carbonation allowing just enough bitter harshness to accompany the feel.
Overall, now that’s what a Berliner Weisse should be! Would I have this again - maybe a better question is: does a baby like milk?

Bottle. Pours hazy orange, medium kinda fizzy off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is paper smoke, wheat, dust. Flavor is extremly lightly tart, light sweet, minimal bitterness, hints of smoke, lemon, wheat. Medium body. Not too exciting.

Part of a 10 euro, 6 beer blind tasting set at Trois 8’s biergarten event in Paris. 100% smoked wheat used by this German gypsy brewer. It pours golden with an off-white head. The aroma is of honeyed smoked wheat, it’s got a lovely soft body with flavors of tangy wheat, smoke & honey. Elegant.

Bottle from Prost! Boise. Pours out a hazy golden with small creamy head. Aroma is slightly funky, musty, yeasty, taste brings some of the salt, without being too puckering. Quenching, tasty, crisp, clean. Nice hot day drinker.

24k gold liquid sitting under a small head of foam.
Big fruity tartness with a bit of smoke in the smell.
Taste wise, again, delightful fruity tartness backed by a very mild amount of smoke. Fairly subtle flavours which makes this a very easy drinker.
Light bodied.
Nice historical brew!
