Description
St. Peter's is an independent brewery founded in 1996 by John Murphy in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall in St Peter, South Elmham, near Bungay, Suffolk, England. Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from our own deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer.

Fun fact: The oval shape of its signatory 500 ml bottle is based on an 18th-century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia, USA.

A hazy orange beer with no head. The aroma is dominated by elderberries. The flavor is sweet - too sweet for me - and rather artificial with a dry end with lots of elderberries. This is too much for me.

An orange beer with no head. The aroma is of citrus and yet sweet. The flavor is dominated by grapefruit but without the sourness - instead it is malty sweet and ends on a dryness.

A red brown beer with no head. The aroma is dominated by honey. The flavor dominated by honey but also contains notes of hops - which gives it a dry end. But the body is thin. For me this contains too much honey - or a too simple taste of honey.

A deep red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet hoppy but also with notes of malt. The flavor is very hoppy and fresh and a good malt blend.

Sweet, cereal aroma. Not much of a head. Taste however is very pleasant - not nearly as sweet as the aroma would seem to indicate but toffee flavot comes through. Delivers with a pleasant bitterness and some grain undertones. An enjoyable bitter.

A brown beer with a beutiful light brown head. The aroma is sour and not so pleasant with notes of cinnamon, pears, and apples. The flavor is bad too, it tastes like dry burned peat - and it burns in your throat.

This ale starts out looking like dirty dish water. Soap bubble head. Slightly cloudy with a orange colour. Fruits, yeast and spices are prodominent. With a medicinal/disinfectant scent. Slight caramel and alcohol notes. Initial sip was quite smokey with the disinfectant taste shining through. Slighly bitter finish. Palate... continues with medicine/smoke/bitters....Definately different!!!

Pours a orange with no head at all. Subtle aroma of hops. Flavor is a very mild grassy hoppy combo. Does not stand out real well but its there. Not real heavy of a flavor but light and refreshing all the same.

Amber color. Malty aroma, dry caramel, lightly metallic. Some sweetness, light malt, strong caramel, some aromatic hop; a bit harsh; very strong final (too much bitter).

Poured deep opaque chestnut brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, toast, and earthy hops. Flavor was a let-down; the individual components (sweet chocolate, toast, caramel, roast, and musty/earthy hops) were not well-blended. The sweetness became almost cloying after a few sips, and the occasional sharp roasted note seemed misplaced. The body was way too thin to carry these flavors, providing little in the way of mouthfeel. Disappointing.
