Bottle from Bert’s Picked up on a whim. Pours the lightest of straw with a dismal head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of apple, pear, and sulfur. Flavor isn’t much better. Medium to light body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet slick mouthfeel. Drinkable but not a whole lot different than a macro cider. One and done for me.

Keg at O’Neills, Reading. Because it was the only thing I hadn’t tried before. Looks thin, gold and fizzy, and tastes that way too. Tastes artificial through and through- the sickly sweetness is that of artificial sweetener and applep- flavoured sweets. One feels that there may be a brief squirt of economy apple juice in there purely to avoid lawsuits, but that may be the only apple it’s seen. I’ll say this for macro lagers, they may taste bad but at least they don’t taste strongly. This macro cider tastes quite strongly of bad- it’s possibly the worst cider I’ve ever had. Wish I’d stuck to the Guinness.
