Draught at Bruxellensis 2008, Brussels, Belgium
Hazy, blond body. Off-white head. Rancid aroma of German hops - dishwater like. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour, the bitterness is quite nice. Balance is not superb. Anyway a nice Zoigl, but I’m not really into this style.

Bottle at LCRBM3. Gold/orange colour with thin beige head. Fresh hop aroma, nice yeasty aroma too, some cereal in mouth that is a little pukey with wheat as well. Bit of decent hop/cereal on finish.

Orang-copper, a bit hazy; thin head. Point of diacetyl, lots of dry malts, summergrain, lightly roasted nose. Grainy taste, bit toasted touch, dry ending. Very slight burning sensation, light bodied. Good, bread-and-butter Ungespundetes. Way better than most Pilseners, even in that regio.

Vollmundig! Test vom 10.9.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,12,11,-,11 - 11,15

LCRBM2. Bottle from Derdoppelbock. I always find the first beer of a tasting difficult, because you don’t want to start too high or too low as you then guage everything off that benchmark. But I did rather like this. Golden with thin white head. Pale malt aroma, bit dusty, some sticvky toffee in mouth, and then dry, tangy finish. Nice, interesting. Good lasting tangy finish, if a little uncultured.

Little white head; golden colour with a very slight haze. Terribly malty, grassy nose, slightly smokey. Sweet initially, but with a very fine hoppy lining, especially coming up in the finish. Light, but grist slickness, refreshing. This is UNBELIEVABLE! Der Doppelbock upped everybody with this super addition to the knowledge here. And it was worth all the trouble, IMO.
