We’re a friendly bunch of Yorkshire folk with a passion for all things ale. Since 2015, we’ve been driven by a passion for innovating ales, while sticking to the traditional methods and high quality that you know and love.
The North Riding Brewery is based in the village of Snainton, just outside the seaside town of Scarborough, Yorkshire. Every day we’re blessed with chocolate box views of God’s own county and refreshing sea air. You could say there’s a little taste of Yorkshire in every brew.
Our production process is simple. We currently brew three times a week in our microbrewery, focusing on hop-forward modern ales with the finest ingredients.
Our mission is to delight your taste buds with a little love from Yorkshire. We’ll drink to that.
First brewed during March 2015 using a 10BBL plant. Initially it was based at the Betton Business Park, East Ayton, Scarborough. It is a sister brewery to North Riding Brewpub. In Summer 2019 the brewery relocated to their current location.
The majority of the output now comes from East Ayton but the brewpub also continues to operate, primarily for small batch beers sold at the pub, test brews and the occasional festival special.
Handpull cask at the Needle and Pin, Loughborough. Mid- to dark brown and mostly opaque with a full beige/khaki head. I am getting maple, chocolate, caramel and naked booze. Loads of the boozy character in the taste with the maple sweetness cutting through a bit. Big alcohol burn of the finish. This is a naughty beer, and the alcohol isn't hidden in the least. Unhinged and unhindered.
Merry Christmas. Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Hazy gold. Decent white foam. Chunky orange marmalade hops here. Some pithy notes. Bit of sweet pine. Clear clean bitterness. Very citrusy. Some sweet preserve. Plenty of depth with brisk carbonation. Lingering bitter finish. Nice IPA.
Bottle from Drink? Hebden Bridge. Extremely dark with an active carbonation and a very thick light-brown frothy head. Very nice dark malty brew, but only a mild nuttiness found. Has some dryness about its taste.
Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Moderate haze on a dark gold. Good firm lasting off white foam. Spicy ginger biscuit malt. Ripened zesty citrus. Floral herby hop. Nice and clean bitterness. Lively mouthfeel. Bitter finish.
Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Hazed deep gold. Lasting white suds. Biscuit malt with orange zest and light sappy pine. Light body with fine zippy carbonation. Moderate bitterness throughout.
Cask @ Tap and Can. Black pour, small beige head. Rum coming through strongly on the nose. Pokey rum overall, with additional chocolate shades emerging.. quite flavoursome.
Bottle. Beer Central Sheffield. Oily pour. Sits black. No head. No condition. Aroma has artificial maple and something like strawberry. Heavy and boozy. As much as I like this brewers pale beers the stouts and porters are crap, frankly. It’s the same recipe with additions to varying strengths.
