Hand-pulled pint on 25th October 2024, The Robert Fitzharding (a Spoons in Bristol). Dark brew, ruby hue to the body, beige crown. Malty, boozy and heavy. On the sweet side with a 'fruit and nut chocolate bar' sort of taste.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol October 2024. Deep copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Yeasty grains, some caramel sweetness, red berries a touch of leafy hop and moderately bitter finish. This beer had not travelled well and I am not surprised others' ratings are higher.

On cask at the SO. Appearance - autumnal red, thin creamy white head. Nose - caramel, toffee and a hint of red fruits. Taste - burnt toffee, edge of almost liquorice but definitely some blackberry jam. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and then tangy dry. Overall - this grew on me.
