Description
Camerons Brewery is now the only remaining major independent family brewer in the North East of England. Evidence of brewing at the site in Hartlepool dates back to 16th century and The Lion Brewery has been home to Camerons since 1865. We use a selection of the finest ingredients sourced both locally as well as using new hop varieties from around the world. The brewing team at Camerons combine these with water drawn from two of the artesian wells located 230ft below the brewery. Our aim is to produce a range of fantastic beers that has the unique combination of craft, heritage & innovation brewed into every pint.

Cask @ Duke of York, York. Clear dark red with a small white head. Aroma of red fruits and malts. Taste of caramel, red berries, chocolate, malts and toffee. Very chocolate-y in fact. Low bitterness. Low carbonation. Lovely.

Cask @ Head Of Steam, Huddersfield. Slightly hazy golden ale with a stewed fruitiness in both aroma and taste. Slightly tropical but not the best example.

Cask at the califfo Irish pub in porretta Terme. Pours a clear amber with a thin pacing of white head. Aroma is malty and grassy, good old-fashioned English hops. Light to medium body. Flavour is malty and balanced, not watery at all, with a lovely light bitterness, lots of grassy and herbal hops notes. Finish is very grassy and bittersweet. Actually a lovely best bitter verging on an old school English IPA, very drinkable but packs a lot of flavour into a beer this sessionable. Very pleasant on a hot summer afternoon like today. This was a great positive surprise.
