About
Camerons Brewery is now the only remaining major independent family brewer in the North East of England. Evidence of brewing at the site in Hartlepool dates back to 16th century and The Lion Brewery has been home to Camerons since 1865. We use a selection of the finest ingredients sourced both locally as well as using new hop varieties from around the world. The brewing team at Camerons combine these with water drawn from two of the artesian wells located 230ft below the brewery. Our aim is to produce a range of fantastic beers that has the unique combination of craft, heritage & innovation brewed into every pint.

Flavour: Fruity sweet and bitter with citrus and light stale dusty notes. Sweet and bitter.

Pint from the cask at Weatherspoon's Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Aromas & tastes of light tangerine, citrus, grass, grain, hops & malt. Medium body. Light bitter finish. Enjoyable

Tap at their Birmingham pub. Clear gold with decent head and lacing. Reasonably clean with a floral bitter edge. Still there was a slight vegetable-corn element mid way. Its ok for the style.

500ml bottle. Clear mahogany with small beige top. Aroma is somewhat metalic but with caramel and berries coming through. Taste of sweet brioche-bready malt, light roast, jam. A mid-bitter earthy finish with a hint of the metalic but not as bad as the aroma suggested. Nice smooth mouthfeel for the strength. A bit mixed.

Cask at Head of Steam, Birmingham. Clear red amber with a creamy off white top with great lacing. Malty caramel aroma, pleasant. Taste again malty with berry fruits, woody, long bitterness. Nice smoothness. Decent.

0,440 can. Pours golden yellow, with quickly dissipating white head. Head disappears within 5 minutes. Aroma of malt, honey and fruits. Taste is malt and honey. Body is medium and crisp, with medium carbonation which is on the upper side. As it gets warmer, honey steps out even more. Finish is fruity and malty with a hint of honey of course.
