Description
We are an Independent Family Brewer based in Dudley which has brewing on the same site since 1915.

The Brewery is still run by the fourth generation of The Holden Family and whilst they all enjoy a very much hands on approach to the business, they are still just as committed to their proud history and heritage and to the generations to come.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2007. Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Has Fruity malty and slightly hoppy aroma. Sweet malty and fruity flavor with some hoppy hints. Malty finish with some fruity hints and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Golden beer with a small head. Apple, citrus, honey and malt aroma. Sweet and malty flavour.

Cask@GBBF2007. Rubyish amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is vegetables, some nice caramel and roast. Flavour is really mildly roasted malts and caramel. The caramel grows a bit in the finish.

Brown with a small white head. Toffee, roast malt and some butter aroma. Roast and dry flavour.

Cask @ The Masque Haunt, EC1 Oldstreet, London. Clear light yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate hoppy, apple, stewed apples w. macaroon. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic, with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat.

Bottle from Tesco. Poured a pale golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon zest, sherbet and corn syrup. Floral hop flavour with some bready malt. Light metallic palate and bitter orange peel.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 16/8/07. Brown coloured with a red tinge and a slight beige head. Red fruit and dark chocolate aroma. Flavour of fruity malt with a dry finish. good.

Cask. Golden colour, mediumsized white bubbly head. aroma is very fruity, nectary and pleasant. Flavour is the same along with very wooden hints. A good and pleasant session drinking thingy.

Cask. Golden colour, small bubbly head. Aroma is bitter fruits, some malts and quite glueish. Flavour also has quite much of the same, but is really hoppy. Very mouthdrying palate.
