Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a greenish tinge, a small foamy almost white head and excellent lacing. The aroma has malts, caramel and oranges. In the mouth it is tending towards bitter, though with some underlying sweetness and creamy texture. Flavours are malts, floral hops, grains and herbs. Later some hints of hedgerow fruits and spices as well leading to a fruity and slightly dry finish. This is surprisingly nice.

Cask at Great Western, Wolverhampton. Pours golden yellow with a medium sized off-white head and good lacing. There’s an attractive aroma of honey, summer fruits and hints of citrus. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy with just a smidgen of bitterness. Flavour has floral hops, malts and honey with a little herbal influence coming through after a while. Finish is slightly dry. This is decent, nice and refreshing.

Bottle at home having spent 4 hours at a drama review featuring the youngest. This was necessary. Perhaps served a touch too warm? Rich malts, balanced hops and a slight (only slight) taste of vomit. Ok, but not great.

A day working from home after 4 days in the City and I needed this beer. In honour of this I opened up The Fat Lads' Arms - the pub at the bottom of my garden. Great pour and a real yeastiness to the nose. A really rich taste and mouthfeel and you can taste the alcohol. Really good.

Hand pulled pint on 7th February 2025 at the Pheasant Inn and Brewhouse, Wellington, Shropshire. Ruby hue to the brown/bronze body, beige crust. Toffee like aroma and taste, but not overly sweet, the hops giving plenty of bitterness and some balance.
