Cask at Great Western, Wolverhampton. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a sizeable off-white head. There’s a hoppy aroma of the traditional kind. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a creamy texture. Flavour has traditional hops, malts, oranges, biscuits and hints of mango. Bitterness lasts into the slightly dry finish. This is decent enough.

Cask@The Pineapple. Amber colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel, some fruity and floral tones with mild wood. Flavour is bready, floral, some tropical fruits and mild herbal tones to it. Pleasantly balanced.

Hmm. Not generally a fan of Pilsners (though with numerous exceptions!) but this is actually quite good. Quality brewer = quality beer. Mostly....
