Cask at Wellington, Birmingham. Clear dark gold/light amber with small white top. This one had a malty biscuit base with floral and bitter lemon notes. Light to medium bodied and a soft carbonation. Very average in some ways but it grew on me - it has a certain old style session quality to it which I like.

Bottle from Connolly's Wine Merchants. Pours a clear amber with small white head. Aroma of malts, some flora and spice but fairly inconspicuous. Taste of malts, quite floral and bitter, resin, orange sweets, light to medium bodied. Mediocre, probably better on cask if kept well.

Bottle split at the Level Six tasting, thanks to LKS, 22/03/23. Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap that thins to the edge. Nose is dark malts, dusty fruit rinds, earthy, vinous, toffee. Taste comprises stewed fruits, oxidised nip, toffee, earthy, damp oak. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad for the age.
