Description
In the wide-skied arable lands of Holderness, down a tree-lined lane, lies Great Newsome Brewery. Here you will find beers for all seasons and all-year drinking.

We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We keep it simple, using superb natural ingredients to make beer that you can sit back and enjoy, without even thinking about it. Which in our opinion is the sign of a very good pint indeed. It’s traditional craft beer with a modern twist.
Growing our own malting barley gave us a good start and we have since developed special strains of yeast as well as experimenting with homegrown hops, although they are difficult this far north.
Visiting our shop, you’ll be sure of a tail wagging welcome from our English Springer Spaniels, descendants of the late Jem, our mascot who is fondly remembered on bottle labels and draft beer bar tags.

Bottle @Højbjerg Tasting. Very dark brown, beige head. Aroma has light coffee, dark malt, a little caramel. Roasted, caramely flavour, hoppy bitterness.

Bottle, 4.3%. Very dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and a little liquorice. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, bread, little liquorice, hop and a little bitter.

Frothy white good mostly diminishing head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Some roast. Moderate bitter nice roasted flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Bottle @ Højbjerg tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are caramel, roast malt, hops and has a sweet caramel finish.

12/4/2019. Cask gravity at the Hull Real Ale & Cider Festival 2019. Pours slightly hazy pale gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruits, hops and grass. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Citrus finish. Not bad.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2017, [ Great British Beer Festival 2017 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.[ As Great Newsome Elderflower Power ].Clear medium yellow - amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, pale malt, fruity malt, light floral. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, light floral, elderflowers notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat.
