Description
In the wide-skied arable lands of Holderness, down a tree-lined lane, lies Great Newsome Brewery. Here you will find beers for all seasons and all-year drinking.
We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We keep it simple, using superb natural ingredients to make beer that you can sit back and enjoy, without even thinking about it. Which in our opinion is the sign of a very good pint indeed. It’s traditional craft beer with a modern twist.
Growing our own malting barley gave us a good start and we have since developed special strains of yeast as well as experimenting with homegrown hops, although they are difficult this far north.
Visiting our shop, you’ll be sure of a tail wagging welcome from our English Springer Spaniels, descendants of the late Jem, our mascot who is fondly remembered on bottle labels and draft beer bar tags.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a mild creamy sweetness. Light elderflower with a bitter orange almonside. Light semi dry finish. Okay but there are nicer elderflower beers at this festival.

Bottle that Jim shared - cheers! - originally from Williams Farm Shop at Hornsby Freeport. Gold in hue with a thin white head. Flavour of grass urine, caramel and florals. Reasonable body, but not for me, I don’t like the flavour.
