I was offered a sample of this dark coloured brew and told it was was brewed for pancake day. My server was not wrong as this is a sweet cake-filled porter in aroma and taste.

It's certainly hard coming to a pizza restaurant just to drink beer, the fruity aroma of this pale golden keg pour has to be endured with some excellent external burnt oven and bread notes. Only mildly floral in taste, but still fine, they might have reserved this name for something more stated from nature's garden. Nevertheless it's easy enough for a 5% brew and recommendable.

Handpull cask at Brew Tavern, Nottingham. Light to mid hazy gold with a swirl of off-white head. Fruity aroma, pink grapefruit, some pineapple and maybe orange peel. Taste is that perfectly judged tinge-of-vanilla and slightly yeasty sweetness that has a little bit of tangy hoppy bitterness. Body is light with very little carbonation. Hands up, I haven’t a Scooby what the beer is that they are honouring here. But overall it’s fantastic stuff.
