Pours a hazy dark amber from a can. Tropical fruit and citrus aroma atop a big malty base. Flavor is coconut forward, with some candied pineapple and a bit of orange marmalade. Sweet of course. Pretty good beer.

Pours a clear dark amber from a can. Light citrus and biscuit aroma. Not really picking up on grapefruit per se, just kind of thin citrus peel flavor. Meh.

Pours a dark mahogany brown from a growler. First pours quite carbonated. Light roasted malt aroma, some toffee. Flavor is primarily a sweet light peatiness, some caramel undertones, not terribly smoky. Good beer.

Pours a slightly hazy amber from a can. Aroma primarily handsoap and pine, flavor is a little more piney. A little syrupy sweetness. Okay beer.

Pours a somewhat hazy dark amber from a growler, which was opened yesterday so a little flat. Citrus and soap aroma, flavor is focused on the bitter but lack of floral/fruity notes is a letdown. Okay beer.

Draft at Sea Level, Newburyport, MA. Aroma was mild citrus, floral hops. The backbone of this IPA is strong caramel. Citrus and floral notes try to come through the caramel. Sort of balanced. Old school IPA.

12oz bottle, brought to me by my brother-in-law. Poured a clear, copper color with a small, off-white head. Aroma was heavy on the caramel malt, light toasted notes, some earthy and floral hops. Flavor was bitter, with some light resin. Light crispness in the finish. Standard, old school IPA.

Pours a rich caramel brown from a growler. Aroma is not much , a light fruitiness. Similar flavor, light beach plum which is nice. A little yeasty, but not as much as expected, overall a little thin and very light, not terribly close to a dubbel, but a good beer.

Growler share with Doug and Henry.
Reviewed from notes.
We all poured into chalices.
The appearance of mine was a mild hazy yellow color with a finger’s worth of a mild foamy white head. Delicate lace.
The aroma had some citrusy pulpy sweetness, some herbal qualities, dough, earthiness, subtle floral hints and some Belgian yeastiness.
The flavor seemed to have the previously mentioned aromas to collide collectively together with a delicate lenient earthy to sweet herbal aftertaste. Semi-cereal sweet sort of grassy finish.
The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sipping quality as the ABV was noticeable. Mild carbonation was felt but in a good way.
Overall, not a bad Quad or perhaps a Belgian ale, whatever, but it was good.
