Description
Shiny was established in 2012, as a small scale operation, brewing in Derby mainly for its brew pub. Now based in the beautiful village of Little Eaton, just outside of Derby. The brewery is based in the centre of the village and has a taproom which features all Shiny’s new beers and one off pilots. Our beer story began with untraditional highly hopped cask beer and now has evolved into brewing a range of cask, keg and cans, the ethos is still the same brew beers we love to drink which means lots of hops! All beers are unfined and a good number of our core range is certified Gluten Free.

Keg @ That Beer Place, Chester. Pours misty gold, frothy white head. Excellent vanilla coming through on the nose. Taste is wonderfully balanced, lovely prominent vanilla with a good hop bitterness, light leafy mosaic pine underneath. Good stuff from Shiny.

Tap at Beer Dock, Crewe Pours a hazy golden yellow with a vigorous white head. Strong aroma of oranges, leads to mouth citrus in the mouth, with orange and lemon featuring. Medium carbonation, but strangely very fizzy on the tip of the tongue. A nice hoppy finish as well. Quite likeable.

Keg @ Pint Shop, brum. Pours a deep unclear brown, good tan collar. Cherry and chocolate on the nose. Taste is smooth, rich dark black forest gateaux, moderately sweet, good balance of chocolate and cherry jam. Not too shabby.

Cask @ The Abbey. Pours a lightly misty golden amber, small white head. Aroma is lightly juicy fruity. Taste is lightly juicy, sessionable, some nice mosaic shades, but perhaps a day or two past its best. Fine for a cask pale.

Keg tap at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Light to mid-gold, hazy with a thin film of white head and generous lacing. Juicy aroma with orange and pineapple, a little bit of papaya. Sweet taste with a touch of bitter hop balancing the finish. Not as flavourful as the aroma promised but still very drinkable. Body is slightly thin for the ABV, but this is hidden by heavy carbonation. All in all very nice.
