Description
Blue Bee Brewery is an independent brewery in the heart of the valley of beer in Sheffield, England.
Blue Bee was set up in 2010 by Richard Hough, former head brewer at Abbeydale, who has also done stints at Acorn, Crown, Spire, Raw and Marble. Starting his own brewery allows him to use this invaluable experience on his own terms, creating beers that are noted for “quality, consistency and with a slight addiction factor”. In 2014 the business was acquired by Reet Ale Pubs, which runs three pubs in Sheffield.

Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival 2025, Beer#19. Black-brown mild in colour, but it's a bonafide mild in style. Very light roasted, light sweetness, smooth in texture.

Hand pulled pint at the Wrekin Inn on 8th October 2025. Black bodied, tanned crust that hung around for a while. Malty, with a coffee and chocolate feel, it's fine and fairly tasty for a 4.3% Porter.

A suitably named first choice beer for the day on Independence Day in America. Quite a bittered hoppy amalgamation in this latest version.

Hand--pulled pint in The Pheasant Inn & Brewhouse on 7th May 2025. Clean and clear golden body, white crown. Dry and hoppy, the first of this series I've come across. Nice combination of hops with piney notes on a bed of citrus/tropical fruits.
