15th February 2014
Bright clear amber beer, small untidy white head. Palate is light and dry with mild minerally carbonation. Light malty with whispers of toffee and caramel. Hops are mildly floral with a touch of tangy citrus. Some twiggyness and a trace of bubblegum ester. Light dry finish. Standard stuff but clean and fresh.

1st March 2014
Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is crispy and dry. Lots of dark chocolate here with a little chocolate powder on top. Touch of tangy dark fruits. There isn’t a lot of dark malt! Chocolate aftertaste. Tasty and err quite chocolatey porter.

Bottle. Light hazy tan. More of a musty, appley aroma than I was expecting. Fairly bland with light bitterness and vague fruits. Disappointing.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 14/2/2014 as "York Quaffing Ale". Amber with a slight, off-white head. Easy drinking, with some biscuity malts and a touch of tangerine before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask-conditioned at the Beer Emporium, Bristol 14/2/2014. Black in colour with a decent, off-white head. Dominated by plain chocolate upfront, with a touch of sweetness, before some toasted malts and a dryish finish. I found the chocolate was a bit overpowering.
