Cask at Butler’s Bell, Stafford (though I have had it before) Pours a hazy chestnut with minimal white head and some lacing. [ Not sure it’s supposed to be cloudy ] Theres an aroma of rotting fruit about this, mixed in with malts. In the mouth it starts of with mainly autumn fruits, caramel and toffee before raisins and malts add to the mix later. Slight sweetness at the start becomes slight bitterness. Finish is dry and fruity. Quite reasonable

330ml can via Beer52 subscription. Pours dark brown with a beige cap. Aroma: roasted malts, chocolate, light spice. Taste: moderate sweet & light bitter, light roast, chocolate, spice, creamy mouthfeel. Thin body with soft carbonation. Nice flavours, tastes more like a milk stout.

One-third pint, tap, shared with Finn at the Sambrooks Taproom. Filmy layer at the surface of copper coloured body, spotty lacing. Plain roasted malty nose, black chocolate scent. Dark malt-driven taste supported by a note of prunes. Roasted malty ending, has got a distant touch of sulfur. Satisfying. (London 20.11.2021).

One-third pint, tap, shared with Finn at the Sambrooks Taproom. Clear golden-brown body, pearl white head leaving spotty lacing on the glass. Ripe citrus nose added by grainy malts. Okay taste character of almond, herbal hops, and a citric touch. Mid-sweet malt-fruity ending. Satisfying. (London 20.11.2021).

Thin beige head on a dark reddish brown body. Malt & nutty aroma. Medium bodied, light over the tongue with a tingle on the back. Malt, nutty, roasted & smokey tastes with some hints of pig. Decent.
