A bit murky, dull tan-amber, nice frothy head. Earthy, mushroomy hop. A bit syrupy but with earthy, crackery hop character.

At the brewery. Golden and sparkly, aroma is quite perfumey, lots of bubblegum. Taste is similar, a bit plasticy, but w enough abv to dry it out in the finish.

Growler. Very dark brown with a beige head that hangs around with nice lacing. Muted aroma of coffee, dark sugars, some chocolate. Hearty. Taste has lots of coffee mingled with chocolate and some roasted flavours, hints of berries - maybe that’s the coffee too. Firm bitterness is grassy with some pine and light sweet shop spices. Tasty. Appreciated the balance of this as it warmed above 12C.

(Bottle) Opaque shiny black with the tiniest tan head. Pleasant complex aroma including raisins and hints of chocolate. Very full body, almost approaching syrupy, with soft creamy carbonation. The taste is full and rich and rather difficult to pin down. The start has a nice sweetness of the rich Christmas pudding variety (although without the spices) which steadily develops balancing tougher flavours including smokey burnt notes, alcohol bite and bitterness. The finish of sticky rich sweetness balanced with bitterness lasts a long time. Fantastic beer.
