Pours olive oil green into a shaker. No head. Sweet granny smith aromas. Crisp with sweet and sour granny smith upfront turning to a mellow, medium length apple finish.

Pours deep clear amber into a shaker. Still. Mild apple aromas. Soft with mildly tart apple front to back. Not bad - nothing really negative to say other than it’s a little sweet and not very exciting.

Dollar single from Trader Joe’s. Already certain of what is ahead of me, I’m not very eager. Having a decent bottle to sub in at the ready really helps work up your courage.
Ommegang anniversary glass. Clear, very pale, gold color. Barely active.
Smell is grapey sweet, a little white sugar, aerosol burn. Smells simply of white table wine.
Taste is unexpected. This is really acidic, very wine-y, woody, & only mildy tart. The regular Newton’s Folly had way more candy-like tartness. Still has that cheap/ugly apple wine booziness. Cider vinegar sweetness. Dry finish. A bit creamy in texture. Soft to moderate carbonation.
This is all apple wine. Not a fan of that kind of cider. The regular Newton’s Folly tastes somewhat like sour Granny Smiths, not this. Labeling mixup perhaps?

Dollar single from Trader Joe’s. $3 pack of naturally cured bacon. $2 box of granola. $5 1.5lb dark chocolate bar... That’s all that’s worth buying here right?
Ommegang anniversary glass. Unusually dark, clear, bright, active, amber/copper body. Suspect lingering rings of lace as it swirls around the glass.
Smells of assorted Jolly Ranchers, 7-Up, apple-scented aerosol, cider vinegar, artificial vanilla. Just artificial in general.
Taste is Sweetarts candy, sour apple skin, woodchips, ugly/cheap wine-y alcohol. Slightly creamy texture. Big, sizzling carbonation.
This has Woodchuck’s stink all over it. I thought TJ’s put serious thought into every item the sold. Lies!

Pours pale straw color with minimal white head. Aromas of sweet apples and some mustiness. Sweet apple flavor with musty and earthy tones. Light to medium body with minimal carbonation.

Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a near clear gold with visible carbonation but no head. Aroma is mainly dry apple with a bit of farmhouse and sweet apple. Flavor is more sweet apple with just a bit of dryness in the finish.

Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a smattering of bubbles that dissipate almost instantly. Aroma of apples and a hint of sulfur and little else. The flavor is a little better than the aroma with a sweetness that seems almost artificial. Mild apple flavor with bits of blue and raspberries. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet kind of sticky mouthfeel. I wasn’t really impressed with this one, it drinks ok but its a bit boring.

Bottle. Fresh apple and candied ginger aroma. Clear pale yellow. Sweet / tart apple and slightly spicy ginger flavor. Light crisp body, on the sweet side of dry. I’m a huge ginger fan, so I dug this in a big way.

Clear, faint, pale straw color. Soda sizzle. Smells of sharp & sweet apples, cake batter, & Log Cabin industrial-strength syrup. Thin, faintly tart, white wine acidity, mellow carbonation. Spumanti sweet apple juice, green grapes, plastic, & a vulgar/fake, smokey maple additive. The kind of cheap "maple flavoring added" bacon that stinks up your house for days because you stumbled home drunk & wouldn’t settle for some Cheerios. Ugh...

12 oz bottle. Cider poured an amber color with just a small white head that quickly dissipated. Aroma is apples with touches of ginger spice. Flavor is apples, spices and some strong ginger-like notes.
