$2.30 bottle from Parkhurst Wine Shop in Luray. No date, but this place sometimes sells old bottles. Pours clear pale gold with lots of carbonation but no head. Artificial, candied raspberry fills the nose, along with a bit of apple. Flavor is raspberry kool-ade, apple. This is sugar water. Way too sweet. Way too artificial.

16 ounce can from Trader Joe's Brookfield. Clear golden. Medium foamy white head, decent retention. Aroma of sweet, earthy apples, pear, vanilla. Taste is apple and pear, hints of apple skins, pepper, and vanilla. Medium bodied, slick. Solid.

Can from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very light gold with a white head. Aroma of pear (tho somewhat like apple) with background ginger. Med minus body. Ginger dominates the pear, but there's not all that much ginger for me. It's rather delicate. Nice, but I prefer my pear and ginger both firmly positioned. Fairly dry. Ginger for spice. Would be good for the lake.

Sampled from a bottle this cider poured a pale yellow color with a small creamy white head that left no lacing. The aroma was sweet apple and juniper. The flavor was sweet apple, blueberry and juniper. Medium length finish. Medium body. Tasty.

At VT cider tasting at Wassail. Amber hued rum and spice and vanilla oak. sweet medium bodied very little carbonation. brown sugar, all spice, cardamon, rum, oak, plenty vanilla. almost like a cocktail.

Bottle poured at VT cider tasting at Wassail. This is new “ultra-premium” line of ciders from Vermont Cider Company. still looking gold. smells of apples hint of vanilla. semi dry and sweet. sugary yet tart apples, white grape, honey, pineapple. syrupy and sugary not all that complex.

Clear champagne colored pour with a tiny white head and poor retention. No lacing. Very dry finish. So dry it makes the tart apple flavors taste almost sour.

Aroma is a mild extract raspberry. Flavor’s similar to nose, but washed out which is also reflected by the thinness of the body. Mild carbonation, which in this case because of the thin body isn’t too bad. Finish isn’t bad.

Bottle. A- Lemon, perfume, lemonade. A- Pale color, clear liquid, minimal fizzy head. T- Lemon, sweet, subtle tartness. P- Light body, average texture, high carbonation, slightly sweet finish. O- Not half bad but it was a bit on the boring side. Then again, I’m not sure how you could make it better either. Plenty of lemon and not crazy sweet or fake tasting.
