Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.
Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

On tap at Orenco Taphouse. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head. A light chocolate nose, some caramel and light spices. A nice mix of fruity hop bitterness, dry chocolate and sweet caramel malts. This is a solid brew.

22oz bottle thanks to ditmier Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is fresh roast coffee vanilla chocolate and some hop notes. Taste is as the nose with lots of coffee and a nice sweetness. A little thin but we have to remember this isn’t a imperial stout.

Bomber. Aroma is full of pumpkin pie spices, chocolate, candy root beer barrels, roasty, coffee. Pours a very dark brown to near black with a one-finger beige head with good retention. Taste is bittersweet with lots of black coffee and chocolate notes, followed by pie spices and a vegetal character that I assume is from the pumpkin. Mouthfeel is creamy and the body is not as full as I was expecting. Not bad.

Can pours a hazy light orange tan with a full fluffy dense white head. Lots of big, up front citrusy hops, and big bitter hoppy flavor. Some papery woody notes as well. Best head retention I can remember,
