Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Slightly hazy gold pour with a tall, sticky sea foam white head. Piney citrus hop aroma. Lightly yet assertively bitter from start to finish. A bit thin. Overall, a decent IPA.

Bottle thanks to my secret Santa. Pours a near clear deep amber with an orange hue and a light brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grains and caramel with a bit of apple and a decent amount of bourbon. Flavor starts with some earthy grain and bread with growing sweet grains, caramel and some vanilla/bourbon that adds a bit of heat in the finish.

Draught. Seems like somebody wanted to add alcohol to a Wiener lager. Sweetish aroma with a caramely red pour. Medium white head. Spicy aroma. Light body with a quick malt finish.

On tap at Apex, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of mild pumpkins, autumn spices and some light cocoa. Flavour is fairly subdued on the pumpkin, bringing out more of the chocolate notes. Quite a nice roasted quality too. No ABV detectable. Fairly light-bodied, but pleasantly flavoured. Solid stuff.

Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours near black with a large dark brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of dark grains and roasted malts with some bourbon coming through. Flavor has a nice creaminess to it with light roast and dark grains. Just a bit of bourbon in the finish. Real nice.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours bright copper with a slight beige head. Light bready aroma with hints of earth. Med body at least. Flavor is bready with some dusty/earthy accents along with a hint of spice. It all works together quite nicely. Would not have identified this tasty thing as an altbier.

Sampled at GABF. Pours a clear orange with some creamy white head. Big coffee nose. The nose really takes you by surprise compared to the color. Nose is also a little nutty, earthy, some light pine. Flavor is crazy, lemon, orange, coffee pressed coffee, nuts. Big, coffee, dry finish. Color takes you by surprise. Close your eyes and you’d swear you’re drinking a coffee brown ale.
