Bottle: Poured a thick black brown with a thin creamy light brown head. Aroma is a smooth chocolate and coffee. Taste is rich dark bakers chocolate very smooth and silky. There is a nice fresh coffee bean touch in the finish.

Sample at Columbia Valley Brewery. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of toasted malt, hops and pine. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, roasted malt and citrus. The finish is hoppy with a lingering pine aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Saddle Rock in Wenatchee, WA. The beer is a hazy amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine and malt. Full-bodied with a resiny hops character and flavors of grapefruit and toasted malt in the background. The finish is bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Coffee beer showdown! I have me 4 coffee beers to compare and contrast tonight. Beer #2. Bomber pours inky black with a small dissipating tan head. Aroma is strong in coffee--a nice espresso--compared with the Midnight Sun. I also get chocolate milk. Taste is roasty and chocolatey. Body seems a little thin and the carbonation is average. Better than the (probably expired) Midnight Sun, but I was hoping this would be better.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Dagan. Clear golden. Aroma of piney, resinous and floral hops, maybe a bit too old. Very bitter hoppy flavor with light sweetish maltiness. Medium-bodied.

750mL bottle at Elizabeth Station, split two ways. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma of pure raspberries, candied sugar and lots of yeast - not sure I can separate between the lacto and brett, but the combination smells great. Flavour of moderately sour raspberries, very slight Belgian yeast, noticeable brett, some moderate funk, and everything is perfectly accentuated by the red wine barrels. Funky, low acidity and subtly tart. Very complex and insanely well-balanced. So much depth. Really one of the best sours I've ever had. Well-done Oakshire!

Bottle 22fl.oz.Unclear medium amber orange colour with a small, frothy, good to fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dried fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, bourbon. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20120616]

Draught. Another good on a hot day beer. Spicy full aroma. This smells almost like one of Hennie’s boerhuis beers. Surprising full bodied for such a low alcohol beer. Lekker herb finish. Get it at the Dragon

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy orange/amber with a slight creamy white head. Aroma starts with a lot of pine over roast malt. Full bodied. Flavor is resin, citrus and floral over fairly roasted caramel. A little grapefruit rind develops. And develops. It’s lightly sweet and simultaneously bitter. Rather fresh and lush. NW for sure. Brilliant.
