Description
Oakshire is a is a community inspired small batch brewing company privately owned by the family and friends of our company’s founders. Oakshire operates a small, 4,000 square-foot production brewery in Northwest Eugene, as well as the Oakshire Public House in Eugene’s Whiteaker neighborhood and the Oakshire Beer Hall in the Concordia/Cully neighborhood in Northeast Portland.

Eugene was chosen as Oakshire’s location in part due to the accessibility of clean, soft water from the McKenzie River. Since 2013, Oakshire Brewing has partnered with our local land conservation group, the McKenzie River Trust. One percent of Watershed IPA sales revenue is set aside for the protection of local watersheds in the territories where the beer is sold, helping to preserve the clean water that is so vital to our community and our beer.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, bourbon, caramel, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, alcohol, bourbon, and caramel, leading to a dry alcohol.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a cloudy opaque amber with a small, rough off-white head. Heavy alcohol in the nose but also an interesting an unusual hop blend - I feel I detect some Sorachi Ace, but that’s probably wishful thinking. Rich body, lovely caramel, a lovely Bourbon character and quite a bozy finish. I really dig this! 160612

Poured at SAVOR. Dark black color with a nice looking tan head. Aroma is chocolate, with a *ton* of coffee notes - a bit like a iced coffee drink (without the cream). Flavor was roasted coffee, a touch of dark chocolate. Mouthfeel was a bit thin, but for being a lower abv one of these, it fits about perfectly.

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours black with a 2 finger creamy beige head. Aroma of dark roast malt and chocolate and hops (type uncertain). About full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, smooth burnt malt, and arguably citrus/resin hop. The hop burns a bit - so it’s strong - but the malt tends to confuse the hop flavors. Finishes smooth, darkly chocolate, and hoppily bitter. Slight burn in the mouth!

Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours dark copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of warm toasted malt. Med body more or less. Flavor is a touch of chocolate, with toast malt and enough hop to taste. Maybe carob rather than chocolate. Finish is fairly dry, and it’s bitter enough for 30 IBUs. Certainly drinkable.

Pours dishwater orange gold with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is lactic, earthy, mildly sour. Med body. Flavor is lightly citrus sour, earthy, with fleeting sweet notes. Goes a bit woody in the finish. Fruit esters. Yeast/spice puts in some pepper. Very nice.
