Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. What the relevance of a distorted Mickey Rooney on the pump clip is I am not sure other than the name of course. Dark golden in colour with a thick creamy head. It’s fairly thin tasting, although crisp, however the maltiness that is there is not bad. A touch grainy but provides some substance to the ale.

Cask @ Three Pigeons, Halifax. Not quite, but for arguments sake it’s black it’s that close! Has a creamy slightly off-white head. Has light but obvious roasted malts in its aroma. A little more soapy in its taste, a little towards a porter in this respect with an easy drinking body.

Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear light amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is skunky malt. The flavour is light bitter with a light malt light hop light caramel palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 9/10/2014. Deep amber with a thin, off-white head. Pleasant bitter with some hedgerow fruits, slightly earthy malts and a lingering, bitter finish. A pleasant best bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 6/10/2014. Near black with a decent, off-white, head. drinkable stout with some chocolate, liquorice and roasted mats in the finish. Fine.

Craft 100 at Craft Clapham. Cask. Clear deep red - amber beer. Small pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry and a little crisp. Mild and thin dark malts, touch of coffee. Mild tangy fruits. Light semi dry finish.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 28th September 2014. Clear amber with shallow off-white foam. Grassy hops and zesty grapefruit in aroma. Lemon and grapefruit citrus tang in-mouth; grassiness late, into a grassy, fruity finish. Light body and mouthfeel.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Covent Garden on 7th September 2014. Clear ruby-t-black with off-white ring and film top giving initial lacing. Roasty, malty aroma with cream, spices and herbiness. Roasty liquid with berry fruits. Bitter finish with some spice. Smooth yet engaging mouthfeel and medium body.
