We currently cuckoo brew out of a great micro brewery near Macclesfield called the Wincle Beer Company. The brewery benefits from it’s own natural water source, an idyllic location and a very knowledgeable and talented team to bounce our ideas off.
With Robert being from Cheshire and James living in Sheffield for the last 15 years the brewery is perfectly positioned in the middle of both places, meaning we are able to distribute our craft beers throughout Cheshire, Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds and the surrounding areas.
Although we plan to develop a range of differing beer types our true passion lies in the pale side of the market, be it a smooth English pale ale, or a hoppy IPA. The Brew Foundation is a micro brewery specialising in brewing perfectly balanced beers.
For us “drinkability” is key: We believe that each pint should leave you wanting one more.

Third, cask, shared with Finn at Big Hand Alehouse. Low white head, clingy lacing, clear warm golden body. Moderate aromas of ripe fruit and earthy malts. Mid-sweet hop fruity taste, hints of lemon and grainy malts. Rounded ending with a bitter bite. Satisfying. (Chester 26.01.2020).

Keg @ That Beer Place. Pours hazy orange, off white head. Aroma has spiced orange, cinnamon. Taste has a pleasantly integrated spicy blend, marmalade, orange pith, subtle cinnamon and cloves. Decent wintery pale on a mild non wintery evening.

Hand-pulled pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire on 15th Nov 2019. Deep amber colour, off-white head. Although this has a malty nose and taste it is very, very bitter and earthy in nature. I had to buy a half-pint of Mild to help me finish the beer, by adding it to my pint.

3/8/2019. Bottle at the Wrocław Grand Prix bottle share, from Beer Dock, Crewe. Pours almost black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of berries, dark fruits, roasted malt, ash and dark chocolate. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slight oily and watery texture, average to soft carbonation. Dark fruit chocolate to finish. Pretty good.
