Description
As the name implies, Felinfoel brewery is situated in ‘Felinfoel’, a small village adjoining Llanelli in Wales. Historians tell us that in the old days the inn brewed its own beer, but only during the winter months. The keeping qualities and the strength of the beers, therefore, were of prime importance and the popularity of ‘Felinfoel Beer’ led to the local inn brewing for other inns in the locality. This, in turn, led to the present brewery being built in 1878 to accommodate demand.

They became the first UK brewery to can beer in 1935. Still family owned, this is now Wales's oldest brewery.

Caramel and butterscotch aroma. Clear amber almost copper color, medium yellow head, good lacing. Pronounced toffee flavor. Watery mouthfeel very tinny finish.Atypical British bitter. Rather than having a nice texture and mediochre flavor, this tasted good, but was watery.

Can (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Amber coloured, medium-sized beige loose head; moderate, but distinctive malty and hoppy nose, accompanied by nuts and fruits; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; increasing dryness in the bitter-malty, slightly nutty finish. Good session beer.....
