Description
Pictish Brewing Company is a small independent brewery established in April 2000 by Richard Sutton. Early in 2013 Richard decided to opt for an easier life and skive off leaving things in the hands of his old friend Paul Wesley. We brew a wide variety of high quality cask conditioned ales and deliver direct to the licensed trade in the Lancashire, Manchester and West Yorkshire areas.

Half-pint, cask in the Station Hotel, Oakengates on 21st Jan 2015. Pumpclip mentions MBCF (Manchester Beer & Cider Festival) 2015. Poured a pale golden colour with a smooth white head. Fruity nose, semi-sweet mango notes too. The taste followed along in the same lines, a sweetish mango flavour throughout. Decent.

Cask at the Wellington; clear straw yellow pour with a bubbly white head, lemon aroma, taste has grain a hint of spice, zesty citrus, not your archetypal wit.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Yellow-blonde with a thin head. Has an interesting fusion of wheat beer and IPA styles, with both noticeable. There’s a creamy texture alongside small citrus hop notes. It is certainly not as strong tasting as its content.

Cask hand-pulled half-pint at The Station, Oakengates on 19th Nov 2014. Good looking clear golden body with a smooth, lasting white head that gave off some heavy lacing. Nice blend, malt lead with a herbal/floral hop kick and bite. Semi-sweet nature to both the aroma and taste, even with the hoppiness and it’s dry bittering finish. Liked it.
