Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 3 | Flavor - 2 | Texture - 2 | Overall - 1.5
On tap at East West, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out paint thinner, medium roast and alcohol. Flavour brings out lots of gasoline, alcohol, medium roast, some paint thinner and cloying sweetness. Messy in every way you can think - too sweet, too boozy, too disharmonious. They shouldn't be brewing something like this without having first nailed the gentler styles. Not good.
mcberko (47456) reviewed American Brown Ale (6.5%) from East West Brewing 8 years ago
Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4
On tap at East West, pours a cloudy dark orangey amber brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of sweet caramel malt, toffee and bready notes. Flavour is messy and jumbled, with cloyingly sweet caramel malt, some roast and couch syrup. This isn't well-calibrated. Needs work.

On tap at East West, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out coriander upfront, with a touch of citrus. Flavour is along the same lines, with plenty of coriander upfront, followed by citrus. A coriander bomb. Pleasant.
mcberko (47456) reviewed Farmhouse Saison from East West Brewing 8 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5.5
On tap at East West, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out light saison yeast and a touch of esters. Flavour isn't very authentic, with saison yeast, esters, and biscuity malt. Becomes too estery with each additional sip. Not convincing.
mcberko (47456) reviewed Modern Belgian Dark from East West Brewing 8 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5
On tap at East West, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out burnt sugar, Belgian yeast and biscuity malt. Flavour brings out burnt brown sugar, Belgian yeast and some dark fruitiness. Reasonably balanced, with a finish of burnt sugar. It's decent.
mcberko (47456) reviewed Coffee Vanilla Porter from East West Brewing 8 years ago
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4
On tap at East West, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out light coffee, a touch of vanilla and moderate sweetness. Flavour brings out cloyingly sweet vanilla, a touch of coffee and light roast. Cloyingly sweet and too pronounced on the vanilla. Not disastrous like some of their other beers, but this isn't very pleasant.
mcberko (47456) reviewed Golden Harvest IPA from East West Brewing 8 years ago
Appearance - 2 | Aroma - 2 | Flavor - 1 | Texture - 2 | Overall - 1.5
On tap at East West, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with diacetyl, not much else. Flavour is disgustingly infected, with nothing but butter pretty much - finishes cloyingly sweet. A total trainwreck. This should not be sold.
