Bottled. A hazy golden with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of wheat, citrus, other fruits as well as a light note of cardboard. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat combined with cardboard and citrus, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Golden with a light sparkle. Thick head. Great, rich hop aroma, deep with a light fruitiness. Rich hop on the palate, too. Bright, cookieish malts. Very well balanced - dry, fresh, sweet all in one. Great pilsner, one of the best on this trip.

Cloudy light brown. Light banana, with hints of chocolate, figs, dates and a touch of wheaty acidity. A flourish of carbonation cuts through the sweetness. Pretty good example of a style I rarely get excited about.

Billed as being a new beer...not sure how old that information actually is, though. Passauer Weisse is cloudy with a light spice and banana note and maybe a hint of clove. Good, balanced mainstream wheat with spice, wheat, apple and banana. An approachable but very competent hefe.

Golden with a decent head. Malt-accented nose with light fruitiness and a slight herbal character. Tastes fresh with only a light doughy malt accent and a hint of herbs. Subtle beer, in the modern festbier tradition.

Burgundy-brown. Thick head. Somewhat light aroma but a hint of liquorice and nuts. Tastes like doppelbock lite, with liquorice, toffee and other watered-down versions of dark malts.

Golden colour with a delicate sparkle and thick head. Slightly herbal aroma with a hint of fruit and light bready malt. Quite dry. Good example, although it’s a shade watery.

Hazy straw colour. Loose but full rocky head...it made a caldera...I’ve never seen that before. Fresh, fruity character, light hop, also a slightly doughy malt accent. Juicy and the low carbonation makes it go down easy.
