Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear warm amber golden with a dense beige head. Sweetish aroma of pumpernickel. Quite full-bodied with a solid malt base, burned caramel and pumpernickel with a subdued bitterness. Real pleasant and solid Bock. 030409

Bottle: Pale golden to golden, beaten-egg-white-like foam, stable; shy aromatic-hoppy nose with a touch of pale malt and straw; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied; lingering aromatic hops in the mild bitter-sweet pale-malty finish. Good semi-bohemian Pilsener......

500 ml swing top bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington. 3 and A notched on the back label. Pour is clear cordovan, brown golden with a large four inch light tan head that builds with pretty settling. Head is quite lasting, and falls slowly. Aroma of metallic tinny slightly sweet malt and some dusty roastiness. Some grassy floral. Taste is floral honey sweetness out of the gate. Sharp, almost tartly sweet, quickly followed by nutty biscuit maltiness and a burnt roasty finish. The roast was pretty mild and subdued, but worked nicely to offer up a crisp clean finish. After the initial sweetness, the roast element really takes over and the sweetness is background. As this warmed, the metallic from the nose surfaced in the taste, detracting a bit. Palate is thin to medium, sweet transitioning to dry roasty, clean and quite drinkable. Overall a nice tasty beer. I ended up liking this quite a bit more than my original reaction, then as it warmed, liking it a bit less.

Bottle (kindly delivered by joss!): Pale golden, small white lacy head; sweetish-bisquity nose with a strawy touch; light to moderate sweetish-fruity taste, light to medium bodied; sweetish finish with a faint lemony-hoppy aftertaste. Rather bland Festbier............

Bottle, 7.0%. Malty aroma, slightly farty, reminding me a bit of Weizenbock. Clear dark amber colour. Small tight tan head. The flavour has some vinous notes, a bit fat yeastiness. Quite sweet flavour, OK balanced with alcohol. Not bad, but the fat yeast flavour is a bit off-putting.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Tastes dry and strong, not as spicy as exspected. Finish a bit metallically. Average!

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild, but not washy. Good use of hops. Modest spicy, a bit sweet in the background. Really good beer!
