Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines. Clear gold. Really solid thick rocky white foam. Handsome. Nose has perfumed hop. Sweet cereal. Sauergut. Some mineral that could come across a bit metallic. Taste is on the sweeter side of things. Very modest bitterness. Drinks fine while well chilled though. Very moderate bitter finish. Too sweet overall. Smashed it, like.

Bottle picked up from a local Getrankemarkt and consumed at home Monday 27th October 2025 listening to Just Mustard - We Were Just Here, we're cooking a vegetable stew for tea, using parsnips, kohlrabi from the garden. Pours hazy gold but not so hazy for a wheat beer, there's a mid sized white head. As expected it's a bit thin in the mouth, there's a little wheatiness but really very little else to write home about.

Bottle. Pours a dark gold colour with a tight white head, plenty of hops and wheat in the aroma, the taste is medium bitterness with plenty of wheat coming through to a dry bitter finish.

0.5l bottle from the Bodenmais REWE. Perfumey bready yeasty arona, grainy. Lean light dry tart minerally grainy taste, bit oxidized, vague herbal hoppiness/bitterness. Eh, middling.

500ml bottle. Opalescent, orange golden colour with average to huge, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Grainy, minimally strawy and spicy, minimally starchy, pale malty aroma, whiffs of vanilla, weak, floral hoppy overtones. Taste is mildly bitter, minimally floral, hoppy and sweet-ish, minimally starchy, pale malty, a touch of honey.
Creamy-oily texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, dense, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well crafted, clean and balanced - not bad.

500 ml swing top bottle from a grocery store in Passau, Germany. Happy New Year! Pours a crystal clear pale gold color with a white head and good retention. Decent, spotty lacing. Bready malt aroma, as expected. Lightly sweet malt-forward flavor with only faint bread notes in the finish. Very smooth and clean. Nothing unique here, just another good German lager. Easily repeatable. Medium-light body Low/fine carbonation. Not bitter.

500 ml bottle from a grocery store in Passau, Germany. Pours a crystal clear light gold color with a tight white head and great retention. Very good lacing. Standard bready malt aroma. The taste follows the nose: Smooth and slightly sweet bread and malt flavors throughout. Simple profile, well done. Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation. Low bitterness. Prost!

Bottle 0,5 ltr: Clear golden coloured brew with an sweet taste in all of it's aspects, from low sweetness to high sweetness and everything in between. In a good way for instance, also some bitterness. Hints of lemon and caramel.

330 ml bottle from a grocery store in Passau, Germany. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a bright white head and excellent retention. Good lacing. Slightly sharp malt aroma. The taste follows the nose: Lightly sharp pilsner malt flavor with a smooth finish, leaning towards the dry end and a hint of Euro water. Nothing unique, just a classic example of the style. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Light bitterness.

Bottle from the Hacklberg webshop. Had this in the company of Nick and Anna, Leverburgh, Isle of Harris, Wednesday 27th March 2024. Like the whisky cask aged, this pours dark brown with a ruby glint, hardly any head, however this is where the similarities end. I find it almost a bit chemically 'ish', strange but I always find Rum aged stuff hit and miss. I initially gave it 3.4 but on reflection it's a 3.2. The Doppelbock is still there but the rum doesn't quite work.*Had to go back through my notes to find this, couldn't believe that I'd not added before now.
