Bottle. Banana, orange, clove and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy yellow amber color with giant white head. Wheat malt flavor with light banana and clove notes. Less fruity/spicy flavor than aroma would lead you to expect. Pretty nice.

500ml bottle with plastic stopper. Pours a murky tan color. The aroma is sweet, not unlike brown sugar or cookie dough. Sweet malty taste as well, with some bocky characteristics. Perhaps a little Amber malt in there? Nice smooth caramel/butterscotch finish. A lot of the flavors of a stronger bocks, but way more drinkable at 5.6%. Good, unique Winter beer.

500ml bottle. Pale transparent yellowish color with a very healthy head. Not really an impressive aroma, very Eastern European. The taste is pretty thin and straightforward, though pretty true to style. Nice sweet and creamy yeasty finish. An OK example of a Helles, middle of the road stuff.

Bottle (courtesy of joss !): Hazy, light amber coloured, small tanned foamy layer; fruity-yeasty nose with a dark-malty touch and a tinge of vegetables, too; light to moderate sweet-sourish flavour, creamy MF; faint sourish-yeasty finish with a dark-malty touch. Not bad, but a quite average example......

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Gold color with a 3-finger firm white head (which left rings upon dissolution). Aroma is lightly bready with a fair amount of noble hop. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sweet malt, a tad yeasty/bready, and the hop is not so strong as expected. Quite strong in flavor and aroma, but it is not intense, just really there. A very tasty thing in a non-intensive way.

Bottle (Dank an Jonas !): Golden, small persistent white foam; solid sweet pale-malty nose with a light grassy background; malty body, moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; solid malty-bitter finish. A good, chewy brew..........

From Liquid Solutions. 500 ml. swingtop as Doppel Bock Extra. Dark amber color with a substantial beige head. Bready caramel aroma backed by some fruity hop. Medium to full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt with some herby hop. Finishes a bit sweet, but the effect is almost a balance. As time passes, darker fruit notes pop up.

500 ml. bottle from Liquid Solutions. Slightly hazy gold color with a multi-finger white head. Aromas of wheat and banana and veg/herb. Medium body with lightly frothy carbonation. Flavor is wheat (probably none in reality, but that’s it for my mouth) and herb/veg/hop with a hint of banana. Rather bready. Really refreshing in the heat, winter beer or no. Good drink. Finish is dryish, and there is definite herb/hop bitter.

Big thanks to joss for the beer! The bottle looks not bad. The beer in the glass also, but the foam disappears really fast. Starts hoppy and modest dry, becomes washy in the end. A good festbier should be more spicy. Only average!

500 ml. bottle. Hazy apricot color with a multifinger white head. Aromas of banana, wheat, citrus and mild spice. Flavor is banana. With a little wheat, citrus and clove. It surely fits the style, and it’s very tasty. Finishes with banana and clove, but mostly banana. There’s a little noble hop bitter playing in the background.
