440ml can. Black with small tan head, no retention. Aroma of smokiness, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is smoke, roasted malts, a sweetness to balance, some coffee, not getting the chocolate in the taste unlike aroma. Moderate body and a short sharp carbonation to liven things. One of very few smoked beers I have tried but I quite like this one.

4/11/2020. Can from A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Best before 31/1/2021. Exploded in storage 3/11/2020. Enough left to rate fortunately which poured close to black, with a small tan head. Aroma of bitter coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, hint of marzipan and rubbery pine. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Bitter, but not so bitter as to affect the enjoyment. Would have liked to have had the whole can.

Bottle from Padstow Tasting rooms. Massive disappointment. My wife said it reminded her of the watery oxo soup made by her day. There is some dried fruit and spice but nothing to recommend. Fairly flat deep brown colour no head. Disappointed.
