440ml can, 4.5% version. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of woody smoke, roast malts, chocolate. Taste of dark malts, roast, chocolate, molasses, mild woody smoke - much less than the aroma promised, bittersweet with a drying finish. Medium bodied, smooth.
To be fair, the can does actually say that it has just a "hint of smoke" so I won't knock it for that as it's clearly intentional, I do think this would be better if it were more prominent though.

Can from Garsons Farm Shop, West End. Aroma his chocolatey and malty, with a resinous streak. Opaque darkest brown. Big thick fluffy foamy light beige head. Heavy bitter - resin and stone fruit. Underlying creamy chocolate, before tangy berries come into play. Medium bodied. Slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Quite a tasty if polite Black IPA.
