Canes Storm Brew from total wine in Cary. Pale yellowy tint with a thin white head, as poured from a cheap pounder can. Smells like cheap fresh pale american lager, no ill nose here. Yes, nice cutting co2 up front. Taste is very mild and friendly, better than expected. Many craft brewers who try to make a decent pale lager usually fail. But I cannot pick out any ill effects on this one, its just a simple refreshing beer. Goes down very easy and is nifty to enjoy. Good stuff with a satisfying attitude. Could easily drink a few of these with no problem. I shouldah couldah woodah bought a six pack of these. Beats the pants off of most macro pale lagers and most craft brewers can't make this claim about their pale lagers. Good stuff R&D; thanks. I'm liking this. Drank this pounder can in no time! Fun. Quite refined for a cheap pale lager. I'd put this up against straubs anyday! Reminds me a bit of Wiedemann's Black Cat Light.

Got this from total wine in NC. From a can that says 'modern IPA' on it, must be another one of those thousand IPA styles. Pour is yellow with a big foamy head that fades quite quickly. First taste is typical terribly on style rude ass bitter IPA. What else would I expect? Something that tastes good? Oh no way. How could there be so many styles of IPA when they all practically taste the same? I guess my beer tasting taste buds never matured enough to appreciate a beer that tastes like aged brown pine tar sap mixed with unscented hand soap all layered upon a brand new fresh real rubber inner tube and then sent to the food processor to mix it with rotten green grapefruit rinds. There, you have it. Blah.

Fairly hazy golden and light peach coloured body with an almost perfect two to three centimetre tall, just off-white head on top that caps this nicely. Aroma of tart passionfruit, some light caster sugar, a dash of brine and salt and a hint of lemons and pineapple as well, but very tropical, light, smooth and even showing that salt in the nose - nice. Light-bodied; Strong passionfruit tartness shows up front that isn't quite sour, but is tart, very fragrant for the fruit and then the noticeable and stronger salt aspects come out right behind. Aftertaste is balanced nicely with a tart fruitiness from the passionfruit, some guava and lemons and the briney, light wheat and soft structure from the yeast and gose aspects. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-constructed gose, complete with a good level of fresh passionfruit that is super easy-drinking, tart and tropical, but showing some body and support from the wheat and especially the brininess. Great to sample and well-recommended for those who want a flavourful, crisp beer in summertime, like I did on Memorial Day itself! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Harris Teeter in Raleigh (TryOn Village, Cary), North Carolina on 30-May-2021 for US$1,87 sampled exactly a year later at my house here in Washington on 30-May-2022, on Memorial Day, a few blocks from THE cemetery - Thanks to all those who served and gave the ultimate sacrifice for my children, wife and my freedom.

Look, I like unobtrusive cheap pale lagers, so I'm a good ratebeerian to rate this $2 can o' local brew. Got it at total wine while visiting family in NC. Not much of a nose. Clear and pale as any macro cheap pale lager. Nice foamy white head, just like a domestic lager. First taste is just a little ruff, not bad, easy to get on to. Yes, there are hints of old country pilsner in there. Not bad overall, but needs a few years of experience to make it a good civilized cheap lager. Glad to have the chance to taste this one.

Can from total wine cary. Skinny tall odd looking can. Clear pale pour. Big white foamy head goes craggy. Was expecting a rude session IPA but this stuff is not bad, it almost comes across as refreshing. Aroma of clean green citrus rinds. Initial good palate impression of lively co2. Clean beery flavor from the start. Just as good and civilized as many clean pale lagers. For an ale, it certainly lacks many of the ill rude attributes found in many domestic brews. I'm actually enjoying this. Pleasantly surprised! I'm not sure how long R&D has been around but this comes off as a beer brewed by an experienced brewer. Nice job R&D. Should have picked up a sixer. Thanks for not trying to make this ale an IPA, big thanks. Probably one of the better straight up ales I've had in a long long time. If this was a little darker, I'd say it should be moved to the mild ale style. It has the attitude of a mild ale fer sher. JMHO.

Really good NEIPA. Fruity, light, tad malty. A wonderful concoction. Thanks MOON DAWG!
