Good red-copper body with little head. Musty caramel aroma like you are sucking on a wortherson’s under your grandpa’s smoking jacket. Weak cherry wheat flavour with a slightly sweet but watery finish. Not much to remember here.

Okay light copper body with no head. Minimal lager cherry aroma. Flavour is carbonated lager with ginger ale hints and lemon. I see this as a miss in the sour ale department, sadly.

Golden amber color. Frothy white head. Big whack of caramel malt with lots of citrus and piney notes. Full bodied that is well balanced between thick malty backbone and very aggressive hops. Very well balanced. Big bitter finish. Love it. Very well executed IIPA.

Golden color. Slightly tart nose that is a touch salty (not sure why as it doesn’t seem salt was added). The mouth is semi-dry, well carbonated with mildly aggressive tartness. A bit heavy and not dry enough for the style, but still not bad. Very refreshing.

Light golden amber color. Salty and sour nose with lots of cat pee. The mouth is very sour dry with minimum bourbon character. But in the finish there is lingering oak and bourbon is very present. Very good stuff.

There are times we all need to hear the radio... or so Elton says. So I’m here in Yellowknife, working my way through the last few brews of their liquor store, in such a warm climate. Sad songs say so much, eh? Well sadly the aroma on this is a boring lager, perhaps slightly better than your usual macro lager but not by much. The flavour is lots of lager with just a few hints of something else - some kind of cloying chemicals, blasee kind of stuff that I can’t say would do much for a beer afficionado. Sure, if you’re in the hinterlands it might suit for a week or two but it’s a bad macro-style lager that really isn’t hitting any kind of buttons for craft brew or really anything beyond just the normal boring stuff. That gentle stuff. I hope it’s gone. Sad songs, and sad beers, say so much....

Nice foamy head and okay yellowish body with modest carbonation. Yes, there are sweet hops on the nose, probably only one kind, very everpresent which is great but not entirely complex. Flavour is a bitter mix of hoppiness with a very faint hint of malt. Dry finish. Good mix and crisp, very drinkable.

Bottle from their sampler pack purchased in Yellowknife - you’re welcome. Good bright yellow witbier-style body with slight fog and plenty of carbonation but minimal head. Very soft aroma of weak lager and lemon, none of the enticing wit notes I was hoping for. Flavour is mostly a boring lager with wit notes. Slight caramel hints. I wouldn’t identify this as a true witbier and it’s certainly lacking in complexity. Indeed, I was hoping for much more.

Some bourbon and a good dose of roast. Lighter dose of vanilla. Pours black with mocha head and lacing. Light bitter finish. Good balance. Some crispness in finish, some thickness in consistency. Cask Days.

Soft burnt chocolate on the nose. Modest head and jet black body. Flavour is bitter roasted barley with a dry finish. Mouthfeel is a little too watery. Not very interesting.
