Bottle, 10.1%. The aroma is fruity at first, turning roasted, roast barley and roast coffee. Black colour, seems cloudy. Good stable brown head. The flavour is roasted, sweet, salty, with lots of coffee and a good piney hoppiness. Syrupy mouthfeel. A distinct orange jam note to it. Has a distinct alcohol note, but it is a warming kind of alcohol, and it ties in well with the other flavours. A powerful beer, but to a certain degree balanced. Sweet, bitter and hoppy.

Bottle. Pours cloudy nearly black with small tan head. Dark aroma of dark chocolate, malt, roast, and coffee. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, dark chocolate, cofee beans and dried fruit. Perfect, unobtrusive carbonation. Lingering, sweetish aftertaste with a roasty finish. Well-balanced and really, really nice.

500 ml bottle sampled in 2009. Almost clear deep amber with a medium sized, dense beige head. Aroma is dominated by light burnt caramel but also some dry fruit. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, slightly burnt, some dry fruit and moderate in bitterness. Medium to thin body, moderate aftertaste and fizzy carbonation. Not the most impressive brown ale.
