Draught at Brooklyn Bowl, 6/9/17.
Clear, hay-and-straw yellow body is well-carbonated and is topped by a medium-sized, white head of moderately-low retention.
Light citrus (lemon) and dried herbs quickly take back seat to the strong biscuit and cereal-like maltiness. Maybe a touch of wax/plastic, but it’s pretty clean, for the most part. Pretty low aromatics, overall, but no alcohol or resinous hops detected.
Attenuation proves to be a bit lower than I’d like, and over the course of the pint, a bit of cereal and cakey sweetness builds up. But there’s some (slightly grainy) biscuit character to somewhat balance it, while hop bitterness is moderate to low. Light citrus and floral aspects and not too bastardized, but for the thicker than average body here. Again very light plastic/wax lingers but the beer is otherwise clean. Carbonation is high and forceful/fizzy for my liking, as well.

12oz bottle poured into Coney Island glass mug. I gotta say, one can’t tell this is a watermelon beer. It’s the least artificial flavored, artificial flavor beer dark copper color. Surface covering lacing. It’s basically an amber with artificial flavor but no flavor. Meaning I taste artificial flavoring minus the actual flavor.

Draught @ Waterfront Ale House. Faintly cloudy dark orange-amber, large foamy off-white head, faint resin aroma, low carbonation, bittersweet piney taste with some caramel malt, thin body, long bitter resinous finish. Not very remarkable.
