On cask at thee Olde Ship Inn in Seahouses. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - slightly elusive but oranges and biscuits. Taste - orange and biscuits again. Tasty. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced dry finish. Overall -nice ale.

Bottle as Alias Lindisfarne Holy Island Bitter, picked up by Isobel (thanks Isobel) from Holy Island (I believe) consumed at home Thursday 11th December 2014. Sadly this was a shocker, insipid, thin, watery beer. A touch of caramel, lacking in bitterness, in fact it is simply a case if where is the bloody flavour. Stick on a touristy Holy Island Bitter label and flog it for £2.90 (or whatever the scandalous price was) robbing gits, shameful! Btw are we sure this is still an alias, my rating seems quite out of kilter for what otherwise looks a pretty decent beer by Allendale and I wouldn’t wish to knock what appears to be a good beer. Flavour is composed of cardboard, stale malts, honey and caramel. Palate is caramel sweet, moderate carbonation. A bit too much age.
