Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 9th October 2014. Amber with thin dying head and no lace. Malty aroma with spices. Fruity and spicy in-mouth with berries, and softly malty in the background. Lightly bitter in the finish with crisp berry fruits. Increasingly bitter. Zingy mouthfeel and light body.

Bottled (backlog). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is nutty, resiny and wooden along with some caramelly, bready and earthy notes. Flavour is crisp on the malty side (crystal, caramel, biscuit) and has a nice wooden, nutty and mildly toasted note to it as well. Nice floral and grassy finish.

Keg at The Potting Shed. Pours hazy gold with a thin white head. High carbonation, also freezing cold! Amazed this isn’t a slush puppy it’s so cold. Aromas of sherbet and lemon. Taste is much the same. Thin finish.

Cask, handpump at The Bodega, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Wednesday 1st October 2014. Another damn good Allendale beer, crisp, fruity and with the Columbus and Cascade showing well here and in particularly good form. Decent, refreshing hoppy, fruity beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6
