Bottle conditioned, and I ballsed up the pour, so a bit cloudy! Lovely pale ale mind.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of caramel, passionfruit, musty white pepper and pumpkin. Flavour of peppery spice, marmalade, earth and boozy peach. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Doesn’t quite come together, in my opinion. Far from easy drinking.

6th Feb 2015: large sample at the 3rd De Bierboom (Brugge) beer exchange. Still early when this arrived at my table: very dark pour with loads of coffee and chocolate notes in both the aroma and taste. This is a bitter Stout with no hints of ’Milk’ anywhere within it’s make up. We are talking black coffee, dark chocolate and crushed nuts here. Pleasant and different, thanks who ever brought it (I was the only RateBeer user there, I think).

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 27 Nov 2014) Black colour with hints of ruby. Brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, dark chocolate, tar and black rye bread. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, dark bread, a touch of tar and smoke, and a generous roasted bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Well made and tasty stout. Very nice.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 27 Nov 2014) Hazy golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, nose with notes of orange, bread, whet-flour dough and a touch of coriander. Fruity taste with citrus, orange, bread and soapy wheat. Medium body, with a certain sweetness, low bitterness. Refreshing but hardly exciting. Quite enjoyable though.
