Description
The Oslo was the start of Galway Bay Brewery and remains our flagship pub based in Salthill; our owners Jason O’Connell and Niall Walsh added a brewery on site in 2009, making The Oslo one of the country’s first brew pubs. Since then Galway Bay Brewery has expanded operations to 11 bars based in Galway and Dublin and have grown and re-positioned the Brewery just outside of Galway in Oranmore. We now produce four core beers along with a plethora of rotational beers that are released throughout the year.
With the installation of our new brew house we are turning our focus towards exporting and making our beers available in the UK and Europe

Keg @ Gasworks Bar, Dublin [290416]
Murky orange red, thin head
Aroma - very little on the nose, hint of soft fruit
Taste - Bitter zest hops, tasted like Full Sail with a load of berries thrown in that’s dulled the flavour, murky muddled flavour
Palate - Soft carb, full body, clumpy mouthfeel. Finish is very bitter, quite dry
Overall - Not keen on this - bit of a mess. Could have been so much better

Dark amber, clear, nice dense off white head, good lacing
Aroma of soft sweet caramel
Taste of toasted malts, caramel toffee, soft caramel orange, very light zesty hops, soft herbal, soft fruits, bit unusual
Palate Soft carb, medium body, creamy, texture like English cask, light sweet, smooth. Finish of soft caramel
Overall - Soft easy drinking beer, nice caramel malts. Quite malty and not that hoppy - too expensive to session

Bottle. Nose of citrus, dry minerals, a bit of honey, dry hopping leafiness, and a bit of ripe stone fruit. PRetty deep orange color with some red tints. Flavor is a bit sweeter than expected, mineral, dry lemon, leafy hops, a touch of toffee, bread, Sprite. Dry, cirsp, nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, whiskey, wood, vanilla, some roast, soy sauce, a bit of dark fruits, a bit of licorice, a light smoky note, kinda boozy. Great sweet flavor with chocolate, a light salty note - soy sauce, whiskey, vanilla, sourish note, a bit of dark fruits, and a light boozy note. Full-bodied, rounded. Really good.
