Description
The Oslo was the start of Galway Bay Brewery and remains our flagship pub based in Salthill; our owners Jason O’Connell and Niall Walsh added a brewery on site in 2009, making The Oslo one of the country’s first brew pubs. Since then Galway Bay Brewery has expanded operations to 11 bars based in Galway and Dublin and have grown and re-positioned the Brewery just outside of Galway in Oranmore. We now produce four core beers along with a plethora of rotational beers that are released throughout the year.

With the installation of our new brew house we are turning our focus towards exporting and making our beers available in the UK and Europe

Black with a beige head. Honestly, not a ton going on here. Some roasted notes, chocolate, earth. But everything is very light in character. If this was bumped up a notch or two it would be much better.

Grabbed this one in 2019 in Baggot Street Wines in Dublin and have cellared it till this Christmas. Pours a deep brown red with a very small tan head. Nose is Christmas cake, booze, molasses, red fruit. Flavour is mostly the same with a small amount of brown bread smoothness.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours rather hazy, very pale yellow, with limited, medium grained white foam. Aroma is herbal, hay, a little tropical. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is moderately bitter, with some sweetness too. Final is fairly dry.

Panda thanks to Cloin. A mild haze on this gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Light semi dry palate, a good fine minerally crisp snap. Pretty thin pale malts and, an equally thin sweetness. Crisp cooling pine, mild hop spice. Floral semi ripe citrus. Little mandarin and tangerine. Perhaps a trace of modern Simcoe pineapple. Light finish leaves a mildly hop spicy linger. Not bad.
