Description
We are four friends; three kiwi’s & one Englishman, (two home brewing pairs) who in 2015 launched the ‘Roaring Four Brewing Co’ as a gypsy brewing company out of the ‘London Beer Lab’ in Brixton. In addition to brewing there, we also brewed down in Cornwall and have most recently moved production up to ‘71 Brewing’ in Dundee. We are in no way re-inventing the beer wheel, but hopefully helping in general, to strengthen the domestic beer market. In a nutshell, our M.O is to brew tasty & interesting beer that we enjoy first and foremost, and hopefully others will too. Sit back, do little, and enjoy. (Is our drinking motto)

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the London Beer Lab. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. Great aroma, nice pissy hops with which I associate mosaic, some tangerine, melon, pine. Light sweet flavour with clean pale malts, more cat pee, good dankness, more melon, orange rind. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with a little oily resin, more melon, pee, citrus rind, balancing bready pale malts. Oh my, this is excellent. Probably the best thing I’ve had from this brewery. Expressive and quite characterful - especially for a 4.2% beer. Good work.

Leg at EoE. It pours clear orange - amber with a tiny white head. The aroma is sweet, stinky, fresh, green, piss, pine, orange peel and a bit of Irn Bru. The taste is dry, bitter, zesty, orange peel, peachy, apricot, stewed fruits, tangy, marmalade, green, piney and spice with a dry, citrusy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

Hazy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly smooth and fairly dry. Decent minerally carbonation. Light malts, sweetish, a little cream. Fruity hops but also quite pithy, dry and bitter. Light tropical fruits. Bitter floral hop before the smooth dry finish. Decently hoppy, could be a little less pithy.

Much needed bottle at the Ale House Chelmsford, after Xmas shopping! Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Minerally crisp palate. Light malts, mildly sweet. Great citric hops, lime and lemon. Modest hop skunk. Crisp finish. Waimea is normally quite a filthy hop but nicely citric here. Hit the spot!

Pigs Ear Fest. Bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts with a burned toffee streak. Little dark fruits. Dry finish. Liked this more than the Cognac BA.

Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry and has good fine carbonation. Airy dry malts, just a touch of sweetness. Hops bring dry floral bitterness and some citric pith. Touch of that Rakau earthiness, but not pronounced. Light dry finish. Mild bitter linger. A bit dry and bitter and after the very nice Waimea Pale Ale, a disappointment.
