Keg at the Merchant, CW, 13/06/18. Light black with a moderate tan head that soon thins. Nose carries nice coffee tones, tiramisu mix, big coffee cake and beans. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, chocolate, coffee grinds, spice, mellow roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent coffee affair.

Keg at The Merchant. It pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, chocolate cake, some creaminess, coffee, roasted malt, fudge and mocha. The taste is bitter - sweet, cocoa, coffee, milk chocolate, chocolate cake, coffee, dark fruits, touch of jam, toasted nut with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty flavoursome and comes together well. Rather nice milk stout.
Underwhelming I am afraid

27/3/2018. Bottle from Two Brews, Colchester. Pours black with a long lasting beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, dark fruits and berries. Moderate sweetness, light roasted bitterness, with a light sour edge. Medium body, slick texture, average to soft carbonation. Fruity, chocolate, slightly dry finish. Quite enjoyable, not clear whether the berry sour edge was by design but not unpleasant either way (bb 10/2018).
