Through more than 200 years of making real premium craft cider, six generations of the Sheppy family have weathered the ups and downs of combining farming with cider-making by embracing change and opportunity.

Today David Sheppy the incumbent Master of Cider, applies his unrivalled knowledge and expertise from a lifetime of cider making to turn our home-grown apples into some of the finest and award winning ciders.

Fifteen of our 90 acres of orchards we planted with tradition standard apple trees. Eight acres of these are certified organic. The remaining 75 acres contain bush trees planted at between 200 and 300 trees per acre, so about 19,000 trees in total at Sheppy's.

Clear golden pour with almost no head. Aromas of (sweet) apples, slightly tart. Tastes of sweet apples, some cinnamon and vanilla with tart/dry finish. Enjoyed it

500ml bottle from Tesco - pale gold body, no head. Expected apple nose, not as artificial as other low alcohol ciders, sharp taste, good dry and clean.

Die 7.4% proef je wel. De extra hoge abv. geeft het zaakje een ferm karakter, wat wel lekker gaat met de koude dunne fruitigheid maar goed aanwezige houttonen. Verder proef ik een gecarameliseerd oud perenschilletje. Redlijk droog maar abv te hoog. (3.6)

BIAB at York Beer & Cider Festival. Golden colour, afew bubbles on top and aroma of apple, fruity. Taste is sweetish, apple, some core, caramel hint, acidic note and mellow tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, medium dry finish. Nicely drinkable.

On tap at Flying Horse Smarden. Clear pink colour thin white head Sweetish some real raspberry pip and jam. overall a bit sweet but better than I feared
