Typical witbier outlook: hazy yellow-orange color, creamy small white head. Wheaty aroma with lemon and coriander plus hints of skunked hops just after opening the can. Interesting range of spices: coriander, clove mixed with lemony dish water and sugar. Interesting witbier, but do I like it? Not so much.

(Bottle 25 cl) Brown, clear beer with a small off-white head. Nose of roasted malt and sugar. Although this has artificial sweeteners it doesn’t come out chemical or artificial. Thanks to that this is a pleasant and easy to drink table beer. 080599

(Bottle 25 cl) Damned be the artificial sweeteners. If it hadn’t been for them this would’ve been close to the perfect fruit-beer. Now the sticky, artificial sweetness detracts so much. Damned.... Pours hazy pink with a slightly pink head. Very marked - yet fresh - raspberry aroma. Distinct raspberry flavour with a rather high underlying tartness. But as said, the sweeteners are a bit too present. Does this really have Petrus Aged Pale Ale added??? 290905

Clear light brown color, short head. Aroma of caramel malt, some spice. Malty taste, bit sweet. Nothing special, but easy to drink.

A hazy orange-red beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is quite light with some spicy notes of coriander and cloves besides hints of oranges. The flavor is sweet malty and quite spicy and fruity with notes of wood, oranges, cloves, coriander, as well as lingonberries. The spiciness gives it a dry end with a slight alcohol burn.

(bottle) Dark reddish brown colour with a moderate foamy tanned head. Sour and woody malty aroma. Very mild and smooth mouthfeel; light to medium bodied, which is a bit disappointing, but anyway well-balanced. Soft sweet cherry-fruity and malty start with a vinous, slightly bitter and dry finish. Aromatic and flavourful brew.

Bottled A clear, lightly amber body, with an off-white frothy head. The aroma is overwhelming. When you remove the cap, the aroma fills the air and makes you happy. And by sniffing the glass, odours of wine, white port, citric hops welcome you and beg you to drink the beer. Heavily sour, light bitter initial flavour. Moderately sour, lightly bitter finish. Very well-balanced beer, despite a very lightly watery flavour. Fizzy carbonation. Medium bodied. This is a very good example of the flemish sour style. I find it a pity Bavik doesn’t sell this in Belgium. If Rodenbach can sell Rodenbach Grand Cru in Belgium quite well, Bavik certainly can sell this one as good as Rodenbach can sell the Grand Cru.

Bottled. Brownish pink colour, mediumsized white bubbly head. Apricot, raspberry and some blueberries in aroma. Raspberries in flavour. Sweetish sour flavour, and aftertaste.

Yellow-brown head; dull chestnut brown beer. Sweet, bready, dark sugar-syrup nose, very sweet with a little lactic touch. Sweet, more like a Doppelbock than a Flemish Oud Bruin. Not really bad, just a wee tad too liquorice-sweet. Some fruitiness, apricot maybe. Very well-bodied, quite slick, nearly viscous. Just not very uplifting. I don’t quite dig this. The brewery claims this is the consumers’ wish. Oh ye of little faith - you are making a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Bottled, labeled "Ezel". Cloudy dark yellow. Aroma of orange and curacao. Sweet and intensely fruity with with rounded, mellow mouthfeel. Rich for a wit, but certainly not refreshing.
